Sacrament of the Present Moment

God is always showering His grace upon us in the here and now. This activity, prayerfully done, makes a beautiful reminder to stay present and open to His grace. To complete this Expressive Arts activity, print the attached PDF. Using colored pencils, watercolors, crayons, or markers and color the picture. Add any details you’d like. Use glitter glue. sparkle Modge Podge or embellishments to add a symbol of God’s grace raining down upon you. Before you begin decorating the printable PDF take a moment to breathe and say this prayer. If you’d like, write this prayer on your finished picture.

- Place your hands on your heart or fold them in prayer.

- Take three deep, calming breaths and ground yourself in God’s abiding presence.

- Slowly open your hands and your arms, your chest… whatever feels comfortable… and imagine receiving a gentle shower of grace as you pray:

Lord, I open my hands and my heart to receive the gift of your grace, here and now, in the sacrament of this present moment. Amen.
